Privacy Policy

Preface

This is our privacy policy. It explains what data is collected when you visit our website and how we handle your data.

Spoiler: We do not operate this website to collect and process as much personal data about you as possible. We strive to do exactly the opposite. That is why this privacy policy is quite short. And hopefully clear and understandable.

However, if you still have questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. You can find all the ways to contact us in the legal notice.

Who is responsible?

The operator of this service is responsible for all data collected and processed on Tubsy. The name and address can be found in the legal notice.

What data do we collect?

It is important to distinguish between simply visiting the website and registering or logging in.

If you are only visiting the website, then the usual data that you leave behind when visiting any website is collected. Our web server sees your IP address, the URL you are visiting, and often where you are coming from, i.e., which website referred you to us. In addition, your browser discloses data about itself to our web server, such as which browser you are using, your preferred language settings, etc. This data is stored in log files by the web server as standard. The purpose of the log files is to enable us to trace what has happened and what the cause is in the event of errors on the website or attacks on the service. However, the log files are deleted after a few days and are not stored permanently.

So that we can recognize you when you leave the website and visit it again later, your browser stores a cookie in its memory. Cookies have been around since 1994 and have been used by all browsers as standard ever since to temporarily store information and make website visitors recognizable. We don't want to bore you with the technical details, which you can read about online. For Tubsy, it is only important to know that we do not store any personal data in the cookie. We store your preferred language so that we can select the language for you on Tubsy. And we store an anonymous identification number to recognize your session, which our servers can use to identify your return visits to our website.

Once you register on Tubsy, we need a few more details from you. The simplest way is to sign up with your email address and a password of your choice. We store both in our database—the password, however, is heavily encrypted. This means that no one has access to your password. Not even us! You can also register with us via Google. In this case, you identify yourself to Google and Google sends us data linked to your profile. Google usually sends your email address, profile picture, name, and other information. However, we only store your email address and the fact that you identify yourself via Google and do not enter a password. We don't need any more data to create an account.

Tubsy is a service that allows parents to share and manage YouTube content for their children. This includes YouTube channels, playlists, and videos. In the simplest case, you only have one child. Then we simply store which channels, playlists, and videos you have shared. However, if you have several children, we need to be able to distinguish between them so that we don't mix up the content. That's why you can create profiles for your children. And to make it easier for you to tell the profiles apart, you can customize them with a profile picture, profile name, etc. However, this information is voluntary and you are free to enter fictitious details here. The profiles are only used to separate the shares for your children from each other.

If you also decide to take out a paid subscription, payment details will of course also be required. However, we do not process the payment ourselves. We leave that to a payment service provider. They collect all the data necessary for the payment from you and handle the payment transactions. This takes place outside of our influence and control. We do not see your data and do not have access to your payment details at any time.

How do we protect your data?

Your data is important to us and we do everything we can to protect it using state-of-the-art technology.

We store your data on servers hosted in the EU.

When you visit our website, it communicates with our servers via an encrypted connection using HTTPS. This means that no one can intercept your data.

We store sensitive data, such as your password, in encrypted form. This means that even we do not have access to it.

The software we use to operate the service, such as web servers, databases, and much more, is all state-of-the-art and is always kept up to date.

You can request your data from us at any time

You have the right to request and view all data we hold about you at any time. Simply contact us to do so.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account with us at any time. To do so, simply go to your account settings.

If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data that we have stored on our servers. The data will then be irrevocably deleted. We will no longer be able to restore this data.

Which external service providers do we use?

We currently only use one external service provider to process payments. As we are still in the process of implementing the payment process, we are unable to provide any final details at this stage. We will add the details to the explanation as soon as we have completed the implementation.
